Wellbeing Training Courses

Goldmark Training

Goldmark Training delivers health and wellbeing training courses to organisations across the UK. Our programmes cover stress management, emotional resilience, mindfulness, bereavement and loss, depression awareness, psychological safety, confidence building, and cognitive behavioural techniques — all designed to support staff wellbeing in practical, measurable ways.

Our wellbeing training is developed and delivered by Tahira Hussain, a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and approved therapist supporting workplace wellbeing through CBT-informed approaches. Tahira brings 19 years of experience in social work, mental health, housing, and community development, along with clinical expertise in the psychological techniques that underpin effective wellbeing interventions.

We work with housing associations, local authorities, charities, NHS-linked services, education providers, and private sector companies. All programmes are tailored to your sector, your workforce, and the specific wellbeing challenges your organisation faces.

Who Is This Course For

Workplace wellbeing is a shared responsibility. Our wellbeing training courses are designed for staff at all levels across all sectors:

Line Managers and Team Leaders

Staff responsible for the day-to-day support of their teams. The training covers how to recognise signs of stress, have supportive conversations, and create an environment where wellbeing is part of normal working practice.

HR Professionals and Wellbeing Leads

Staff developing or implementing organisational wellbeing strategies. Our programmes provide the evidence base, practical techniques, and clinical insight to strengthen your approach.

Frontline and Community-Facing Staff

Care workers, housing officers, support staff, and anyone in emotionally demanding roles. The training covers managing emotional labour, preventing burnout, and maintaining personal wellbeing while supporting others.

All Staff

Wellbeing is relevant to everyone. Our programmes include content suitable for staff at all levels who want to understand mental health, build emotional resilience, and support colleagues through difficult periods.

Remote and Hybrid Teams

Staff working from home or across multiple locations. The training addresses the specific wellbeing challenges of remote working, including isolation, boundary-setting, and maintaining connection.

Course Modules

Our wellbeing training programme covers the following topics, each available as a standalone session or combined into a comprehensive programme. All modules are drawn from Tahira’s clinical practice and extensive training delivery across the housing, health, care, and charity sectors:

Stress Management – Get to Grips

Developed to help participants identify the causes and effects of stress and to develop the skills required to manage stress in the workplace — including their own stress. Covers techniques and strategies to support staff and build organisational resilience.

Building Self-Esteem – Steps to Improvement

Self-esteem affects roles and relationships in the workplace and in personal life. This course enables participants to understand the idea of self-esteem and related concepts, forming the basis for assertive behaviour and the confidence to get their needs met and stand their ground when facing challenges.

Lift – A Wellbeing Programme

A personal development course aimed at all staff. Broken down into 10 bite-size taster sessions delivered in one day, covering mood, sleep, activity, relaxation, thinking, assertiveness, motivation, communication, mindfulness, and confidence. A comprehensive introduction to the full range of wellbeing skills.

Bereavement and Loss

A one-day course helping staff and managers adopt a caring and professional response to bereavement. Covers how to support bereaved clients and colleagues, understanding bereavement issues and the factors affecting the grieving process, how different cultures view grief, and communication and interpersonal skills for sensitive situations.

Managing Depression in the Workplace

Designed to enable managers and staff to understand depression and anxiety — what it is, what it is not, the signs and symptoms, and how to respond appropriately in a workplace setting as a manager or colleague.

Wellbeing in the Workplace

Explores the responsibilities for ensuring wellbeing in the workplace and how this is managed. Wellbeing and stress management sit within the overall duty of care an employer owes to its employees, but the responsibility extends beyond the employer alone. This course covers how everyone in the organisation can contribute to a healthier working environment.

Counselling Skills and Engaging with Residents

A one-day course outlining basic counselling skills that can be used when supporting and engaging with vulnerable groups. Particularly relevant for housing, social care, and community-facing staff.

Confidence Building and Self-Esteem

For staff who want to improve their confidence and self-belief, develop their interpersonal skills, and handle difficult situations effectively.

Emotional Resilience – Getting Tough

Enables participants to understand mental toughness through a balance of theory and practice. Explores resilience attitudes and habits, helping participants develop skills and confidence to deal positively under pressure and build effective responses and stamina.

Mindfulness – The Now Factor

Enables participants to understand mindfulness and related concepts. Participants experience how mindfulness affects behaviour and interpersonal relationships and identify the impact effective mindfulness practice has on organisational culture.

Introduction to CBT

Provides participants with an introduction to both the theoretical and practical applications of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Covers the CBT model, identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, and practical techniques for managing thoughts and behaviours in workplace settings.

Coping Mechanisms – Guided Self-Help

Designed for frontline professionals dealing with aggression, crisis situations, and emotional distress in their daily work. Introduces guided self-help techniques and interventions to help staff cope, decompress, and maintain their own wellbeing.

Mental Health Awareness – Basic Introduction

Designed for all staff who come into contact with customers or service users who may have mental health problems. Provides insights and strategies for dealing with mental health situations and raising general awareness.

Understanding Mental Health and Managing Difficult Situations

An interactive course for staff and managers who face challenges when dealing with people experiencing communication or mental health difficulties. Covers definitions of mental health, myths and statistics, challenges and barriers, how to provide support appropriately, risk and responsibility, and communication methods (verbal and non-verbal).

Psychological Safety

Explores the principle that when people feel safe to contribute ideas, admit mistakes, and speak up without fear of embarrassment or punishment, organisations develop stronger cultures of knowledge, innovation, and performance. This course helps staff understand how to build psychologically safe environments, moving away from cultures of compliance toward cultures of empowerment and honest dialogue.

Drugs Awareness and Dual Diagnosis

Provides core information on how drugs, alcohol, and mental health issues interrelate. Covers how illegal drugs may negatively affect mental health, the implications of dual diagnosis models, and reviews respective roles, information sharing, and referral pathways.

Introduction to NLP – Beginners Overview

An introduction to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) tools and techniques. Participants gain insight into how NLP can be used to develop professional relationships, change unproductive behaviours, and build confidence and influence within the workplace.

Our Training Approach

Wellbeing training is only effective when it changes how people respond to pressure, support their colleagues, and look after themselves in practice — not just in theory.

Our approach is grounded in cognitive behavioural principles. Tahira is a qualified CBT psychotherapist, and every session she designs applies the same evidence-based methodology she uses in clinical practice: identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, understanding how thoughts drive behaviour, and providing practical techniques to interrupt those patterns and build healthier responses.

Sessions combine focused teaching with structured exercises, case scenarios from the sectors we work with, and reflective practice drawn from mindfulness and self-compassion frameworks. Participants practise techniques during the training and leave with tools they can apply immediately.
